December fintech events to get you in the mood for innovation

Looking back, we have loved and shared 34 events with you over the last 12 months. And what a ride it has been. With the new year approaching, here are our chosen December events to end 2017 with a bang.

The first contender vying for your attention is TechCrunch Disrupt, and it is deserving. This event promises 2 days of entrepreneurial frenzy in Berlin from December 4-5th. TechCrunch Disrupt specialises in debuting revolutionary startups, introducing game-changing technologies and discussing what’s top of mind for the tech industry’s key innovators. Featuring fireside chats, startup battlefield competitions and a 24-hour hackathon, not only investors and entrepreneurs but all sorts of tech fans will be flocking to the gates. If that doesn’t persuade you, you can also meet Aziza Idrissi Janati, OpenUp program leader, and Maraoine Naami, Head of Innovation & Partnerships at BNP Paribas Personal Investors, at our OpenUp pavilion in Startup Alley. We will be featuring our delegation of 5 startups; Loqr and Silver in Touch (both winners of BNP Paribas CIB’s pitch contest at Web Summit 2017), Yseop, Botfuel and finally Cringle, a German P2P payments startup currently collaborating with BNP Paribas Personal Investors (read more here).

Up next is Fin&Tech Community by Finance Innovation, slighter smaller in scale but still packing a punch. The event aims to identify and grow the talent of French entrepreneurs in order to expose them to the European and global markets. There will be a Fin&Tech Awards ceremony to select the most innovative startups of the French finance sector. With a stellar guest & speaker list including Jean Lemierre, Chairman of BNP Paribas, we recommend opening your agenda and blocking out December 8th to be in Paris. As a partner of Fin&Tech Community, OpenUp will be at the convention. Meet us at the OpenUp stand or hear Chedy Riahi speak at the roundtable discussion; "perspectives on collaboration with fintechs".
